Given the great concern about the COVID-19 outbreak, owners of artisanal fishing vessels for giant squid in Paita (Peru), together with experts in fisheries health and artisanal fishing, decided to develop these materials with the intention of providing recommendations to increase the Odds of having a COVID-19 free fishing task.

It should be noted that these have been created with the sole purpose of providing information that reduces the risk of contagion or the development of COVID-19 among the fish, but it is not a direct invitation to fish. For its preparation, the "Control Guide to prevent the spread or expansion of COVID-19 for artisanal fishing vessels" was taken as a reference, prepared by professionals Mac Cotrina, Jesica Pino, Javier Igarashi, Juan Bataglia, Frank Morán, Claudio Paiva, Luis Pilco and Walter Olaya.
